Starlight

This story is about Starlight, the horse I did the character development quiz on.

One day Starlight was walking around in her pasture. It was a hot, sunny day and she went over to the water trough. As she came up she noticed another horse walking up there too. "What a surprise," thought Starlight. "That's the horse who is always away from the others, especially Starlight. He was a rare color: Black. ALWAYS away from Starlight. She never knew why he was so shy and always neighed to stay back when she came near. "What's his problem today?" she thought.

"Hi," said Starlight.

"Uhh... Hi?" said the unknown horse. Starlight has heard this strange voice before.

"What's up?

"Why are you wondering, Star?"

Starlight didn't say anything. HE KNOWS MY NAME. She kept thinking that over and over again. HOW DOES HE KNOW I LIKE TO BE CALLED STAR! Someone could've told him anyone. How else could he know?

"Umm, I've got to go somewhere else, I'll be seein' ya'," Starlight said nervously.

The gelding looked away and finished drinking out of the trough and Starlight walked away.

Later on Starlight went into her stall and lied down as usual, she never knew which horses were nearby. Besides she only knew there names when she went past their stalls but she never knew them because she was the youngest horse yet she was with older horses.

"Oh, It's you Star! I remember meeting you!

Starlight stood up in a matter of seconds.

"H.. H.. How d.. d.. d... do you know m... m.. my n.. n.. n.. name," Starlight stammered.

"It's on the front of your stall, silly."

"Oh"

"How could I be so stupid," thought Starlight. But Starlight was too foolish not to notice that on her stall was just her full name, not her nickname.

"Errr, why do you call me Star?" asked Starlight.

"Your mother said that you liked to be called Star." replied the gelding.

"Oh..." said Starry.

Best Friends Forever

I'm sure you're familiar with Strawberry and Starry they're both best friends, if you don't know anything about them you should read the very first story about them.

Best Friends Forever, another big letter story.

Strawberry was had came home from the movie she that Starry had starred in but everything was different... She and Starry were in a different part of the barn plus most of the fillies she was growing up with. But the question was everyone is a filly and no colts at all! And there was a colt right beside her but not anymore and when she was turned out to pasture she wasn't with Starry she was with Caramel.

Why was everything odd! Suddenly Starry overheard some horses talking to her.

"Why Strawberry I've just noticed you came in you must've forgot yesterday some of the fillies had their fourth birthdays," said one of the mares.

Strawberry recognized the voice, it was Fauna a good friend of hers.

"Really? Do you know where Starry is?" asked Strawberry.

"She was in the stall in front of you but you were knocked out some horses had to carry you to your stall there's a rumor going around that Blueberry kicked you in the trailer, she's very jealous of you," said Fauna

"Ah, yes but where did she go right now?" asked Strawberry.

She's with the brood-mares, they bred a few yesterday..." said Fauna.

"Really? How could Starry be one of them?" asked Strawberry.

"The grooms are random pickers, who ever gets picked is bred," said Fauna.

Strawberry stared aimlessly at the empty stall that belonged Starry. She had to go find her to see if Starry was OK. Strawberry said her "goodbyes" to the mares and after she used Freedoms way of breaking down a stall door. Luckily Strawberry new how to do that she's the only one who knows, besides Freedom of course.

Strawberry galloped away, unnoticed by the grooms.

Then she thought, "Oh I must find Starry immediately to see if she's alright!"

Strawberry thought she was lost until she heard the recognized Freedom... Well obviously he's a stallion now along with all the other colts.. Er stallions she had grown up with.

She turned around and noticed. It was a groom! Oh no! Strawberry galloped as fast as she could and then she saw mares they were in a smaller stable, but the groom was still going after her but this time the groom had an emergency lasso and a halter with rope. Strawberry whinnied and galloped with all her might then she noticed the groom slowing down since he was tired of chasing a mare around the breeding barn. Strawberry was proud to call herself a mare it made her want to prance when she thought about it, and.... unfortunately she started to prance and the groom slipped the halter on her.

The groom walked her to the empty stall in the breeding barn, obviously the groom thought she was a mare waiting to be bred. She was in the stall next to Starry, but across from her was... Dun, dun, dunnn... Blueberry.

Blueberry snickered and said,"It looks like that disgrace over there came in late."

Some mares started giggling.

"Oi, Strawberry, she's just jealous. Ignore her," said Starry.

"I hope when I'm bred I'll have the most beautiful foal," said Blueberry.

Strawberry decided not to talk she just lied down in the back of her stall.

"Nice going," Strawberry thought to herself, "That was stupid just to break down the door to my stall then prance like a little filly."

TO BE CONTINUED.

HAVE A GOOD DAY.

Latin

I'm learning Latin so here is what I've learned so far:

Nauta= sailor
Sum= I am
Ego= I
Ego sum= I am (In a more emphasized way)
Sum nauta would be I am a sailor and vise versa would still mean the same thing. Ego sum nauta would be I am a sailor and of course in latin, vise versa would still be the same.

That's all for today.

Ego sum awesome!

Have a Good Day!

Strawberry Movie continued....

Strawberry noticed the groom was chasing her and decided that she would stop and walk back toward the trailer. She didn't make it very far but she new she was in for it. The groom immediately grabbed Strawberry's halter and put her in the trailer she noticed the other trailer ahead before she was put in the trailer.

When she got in she heard Blueberry snickering and said,

"Serves ya' right Strawberry when we get home I'm gonna tell the whole barn of your 'adventures' and there ain't no stopping me to make you be the laughing stock."

"Oh yeah well I know your most embarrassing moment, should I tell the whole barn and give all the other horses something to laugh about?" Strawberry asked.

"Please no oh please no! That is something you won't tell anybody, and you know that. I've been keepin' that a secret for years and if you tell anyone I swear you will be dead meat when I figure out you
told someone, you understand?" replied Blueberry.

"Yes and if you tell anyone of this I'll-

"That's quite enough you two," Muffin scolded. "There is no point in arguing if either of you tell anyone any of your secrets I'll make sure Pueblo knocks both of you out with his powerful kick. I've been listening to your conversation long enough and I did not enjoy it.

So Strawberry Blueberry where silent and fell asleep. The next morning Strawberry woke up to the sound of hooves, neighing, and Reina scolding Freedom, as usual.

"But Mommm," complained Freedom.

"That would be enough, Freedom," scolded Reina.

"Hello Reina, how was it bossing the colts around?" asked Strawberry.

"Freedom will never become a stallion if he keeps this up, he's the same age as you and he thinks he's wild and ends up being horribly obnoxious. You don't even no how much work it is to bring up a colt like this one, especially since his father was originally raised by wild horses and ended up being wild until he was captured by the Appaloosa association and the stable thought it would be great to buy his father and they ended up breeding some horses that year and I was one of the few mares who were bred and the only one to bring up a colt," explained Reina.

"Wow, it must be hard work raising a colt I hope I'm lucky and get a filly," said Strawberry.

"Yes, but I wouldn't say you would be lucky to get a filly. Colts are always fun to raise and they love to prance and frolic and so playful.

"Well then I guess I'll even be lucky to get a foal that can be raised properly,"

Strawberry was being taken to the set finally and they started the first scene.

Pueblo proudly pranced over and said, "This movie is called Star,"

"
Star? That's it! Star!? exclaimed Strawberry.

"Yep. What else could it be!" asked Pueblo.

Then all of a sudden she thought she caught a glimpse of Starry. "No! This can't be true!" thought Strawberry. The horse she saw was indeed Starry and Starry walked right on over to Strawberry.

"Oi, Strawberry," greeted Starry.

"Hello Starry," said Strawberry.

"Surprised?"

"Oh yes, this is a dream!"

"Oh yes, but it's not, you're not dreaming I am a surprise horse and this movie happens to be a racing movie about me, It's like a dream come true! Did you know this movie is going to cost five billion dollars?!

"My gosh that's a lot!" said Strawberry.

You're Amazing Book: Chapter 4

Today I have read Ch. 4 in the You're Amazing Book. (If you read all of the posts before I believe you'll be familiar with this book) I am going to do the activity on Pg. 39 and tell you what is important about it.

Q. Which of your friends is least like you?

A. I don't really have many differences with my friends except for the fact that their all taller than me, except one of them who's barely an inch taller.

Q. What do you like about differences?

A. I don't really have many differences with my friends, as I said before, but I think there is something to like about differences. I like them because when everybody's the same it's boring but when everybody is different you like it.

Q. How do those differences make it a challenge?

A. I already said that me and my friends don't have too many differences or I can't think of some of them but it may be a challenge for many other people.

That's all of the questions now it's time for what I think about this chapter.

This chapter was about friends and I think it will make life better because I can have problems with my friends and it tells you what to do about it.

Now that that's over with.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Strawberry and the Movie

Here is everones favorite horse! Strawberry!!!

Strawberry was walking around in her pasture, Starry was already in there, it was a quiet and tense day, all the horses knew there was news to come.

Soon Strawberry heard the owner of all the horses was talking excitedly. Strawberry veered closer to the fence curious to know what they were talking about.

"A famous director came to my house and said he needed horses for a movie!" said the owner.
"Really? I can't believe it I'll go look for some horses to be in the movie, Bella," replied her friend.
"Wonderful, all of my Appaloosas are perfect for the movie, I wish all of them could be in the movie, though."
"Yes, I better start picking, but first there are some horses who need to be fed first,"

A movie! Strawberry galloped over to her friend who was farther away, grazing.

"Hello! Starry, Starry! I have to tell you something super awesome!" Strawberry said.
"Oi, what is it?" asked Starry.
"A... A..... Famous director came to the sables to pick out some Appaloosas for his fabulous movie! replied Strawberry
"Oh my gosh! I hope they have a racing scene! I'm the fastest here!"
"Yes, and I hope we both get to be main characters!"
"I hope so."
"Yeah, me too."
"Then we can both be stars," exclaimed Strawberry, "And be the talk of the barn!"
"I'm already a star!" laughed Starry.

Other horses started to whisper about Starry and Strawberry's interesting conversation, of course many of the Appaloosas couldn't stand to not eavesdrop on Strawberry and Starry. As Strawberry was taken to her stall there were whispering horses looking at her as she passed by. Many horses didn't know what was going on because all of the horses were being put in their stalls.

"STRAWBERRY." Yes!.She was the first horse to be called. "FREEDOM." Strawberry expected him to be called. "MUFFIN". Another one. "BLUEBERRY." Are they going to have a 'Blueberry Muffin' scene? "RIENA" Reina is one of the mares, she's like the 'Queen of the Barn'. "PUEBLO" I always thought he had that 'pueblo' color. "AND THAT IS ALL THE HORSES CHOSEN, GROOMS. PLEASE BRING THESE HORSES TO THE TRAILORS" Whew, I always disliked those loud speakers. They only picked six horses, do they already have horses from different barns? Probably so.

Strawberry and all the other horses were in the two trailors, three horses in each. All of the horses were munching at their huge portions of hay. Gosh, it's not like we need to be fat.

Strawberry was in the trailor with Blueberry and Muffin they were talkitive and they were sisters Blueberry was black and Muffin was a chestnut. Muffin was nice but Blueberry was rude to Starry but nice to Strawberry.

"Why hello there Strawberry," greeted Blueberry.
"Ello, Blue," Strawberry replied.
"Quiet with excitment, eh?" asked Blueberry.
"I'm excited but why wouldn't they have Starry in the movie?"
Blueberry almost spoke but paused...
"You really think Starry would be in a movie all the talent she has is speed, as if the lady would care about her."
Strawberry scoffed and started munching on her hay.

Blueberry thinks she's gonna' be the star of the movie. Strawberry thought agrily. She thinks about herself all the time. Strawberry winnied and pawed the floor, she chewed on the wood and the bars on the window. An then.. She reared the trailor swerved and came to an abrupt halt. She reared and kicked and threw her head and then the driver ran out took her out of the trailor and went for a walk on the old country road. Strawberry wanted to go home. To the beautiful crimson barn with the greenest grass and where her best friend is at. Strawberry didn't want to be a movie star. Strawberry darted away and the woman handling her didn't know what to do.

Strawberry galloped as fast as she could to get back home.

Hi! This is a big letter story! You probably don't have any idea what a big letter story is anyway. A big letter story is a story with big letters to waste space! :D That's what it is, I don't know if I'm the only one who made that up but... WHO CARES!

Here's the story:

Almost Wild n' Free (A big letter story)

There once was a horse
Who wasn't wild yet, of course-
CUUUUT!
THAT'S NOT THE STORY!

This is the story:

Almost Wild n' Free (A big letter story)
Another story about Strawberry.

Strawberry was waiting in her stall, waiting to go out to her pasture with her friend Starry. But No, because she was in trouble for bucking a little kid off of her back. "That served him right," Thought Strawberry "He was digging his heels into my ribs and I could tell he was scared to death.

Strawberry was one of the friendliest riding horses and now the whole stable thinks she should be in a rodeo. Every horse who went by her stall teased her about rodeos while she sulked in the back it.

Finally, her groom came in and put the lead on her halter and led her to her pasture she saw Starry, oh how nice it was to see her!

"What a relief," Strawberry thought.

"Oi," said Starry. "I've heard of you bucking a frightened child off your back.
"Served him right," Strawberry mumbled. "He was digging his heels into my rib cage!"
"Must've been a relief."
"Oh yes!" Strawberry said. "I couldn't stand that kid, he's been riding me since Tuesday."
"What is today?"
"Friday."
"Oh."

Starry and Strawberry grazed peacefully until they saw one of the stallions kicking open fences! He galloped over to their pasture and he kicked the fence open! Freedom! Only Strawberry's ancestors have been free. Starry was the first to dart out, Strawberry tagged along.

Starry is the fastest horse at the stable. She sped ahead of the stallion. Strawberry suddenly recognised him! The stallions name is Freedom. Strawberry should've known. Freedom was the wildest and as unruly as a colt, that's how he got his name of course.

Then a whole bunch of grooms saddled up a few of the horses brought the emergancy ropes and galloped off.

They caught Freedom first, for Freedom turned around to face the grooms, but the grooms were experianced ropers.

Next they caught a few of other Appaloosas. There went Apple, a mean little filly, she's been making fun of Strawberry for a long time.

Next was Strawberry she started lagging behind, she noticed Starry, who's been in the front for a while.

The last Appaloosa that was still galloping was Starry, one groom was left while the other ones were taking the rest back to the stable.

Starry started galloping faster and faster. But they saved this groom for he had the second fastest horse. Then the groom started swinging his rope and then he did it. Starry was done for, the groom had caught her and he was heading back.

When Starry was back in the pasture with Strawberry they both said I guess we are both wild in our own ways.

Starry was wild for her speed.

And Strawberry was wild for bucking.

THE END

Strawberry

Strawberry, the filly known for her strawberry coat pranced around her pasture waiting for her friend to be brought in with her. Her friend is another filly named Starry. Srawberry and Starry lived in an Appaloosa stable in Kentucky. Starry is a black mare with the white patches on her rump like all the other Appaloosas. They were both the same age; Three year olds. Since they were not mares yet, they lived in a seperate part of the barn.

Finally Starry came in the pasture to join Srawberry. "Hello," Srawberry winnied happily.

"Oi," replied Starry.
"How are you?" asked Srawberry.
"Pretty good, did you know that Darcy is one of the mares now?" Starry said.
"Really?"
"Yep, she just turned four yesterday."
"I can't believe it she was the smallest of all of the fillies and colts yet she was the oldest!"
"Well, I guess It's time we grazed," said Starry.
"Yes, It is." Strawberry replied.

So Strawberry and Starry grazed until they got bored. Then all of a sudden news flashed amongst all of the colts and fillies. A mare foaled! And guess who foaled! Glory did!

"Miracles happen all the time, Starry," said Srawberry.
"Of course that's how the stable got it's name," replied Starry.
"Yeah and the fact that we're Appaloosa's, Spotted Miracles Stables!" said Srawberry.

THE END

Yay!

Today I don't know what to write but I guess I have to write something that's cheerful. Okay I'm done.

So far I've been reading the book Gone With the Wind. It's a very good book so far and I'm really enjoying and I can't wait to watch to watch the movie! This book is about a girl named Scarlett O'Hara who loves a man named Ashley. (I can't believe a guy would be named Ashley!) She becomes a widow and moves to Atlanta, that's all I made it to but that's all I can remember! I don't have much else to say.
Have a good day!

My Slavery Vocab

Yeah, it's time for vocab... BORING. But I gotta' do it.

Atlantic Slave Trade
Abolitionist
Emancipate
Indentured Servant
Shackles
Fugitive
Reconstruction

The Atlantic slave trade, also known as the transatlantic slave trade, was the trade of African people supplied to the colonies.

Abolitionists were people against slavery. They usually lived in the North.

Emancipation is a term used to describe various efforts to obtain political rights or equality, often for a specifically disenfranchised group, or more generally in discussion of such matters.

An Indentured servant would pay for what he/she needed by being a servant.

A shackle is a U-shaped piece of metal secured with a pin or bolt across the opening, or a hinged metal loop secured with a quick-release locking pin mechanism.

A fugitive is a person who is trying to get away from someone or something.

Reconstruction is pretty much like rebuilding something.

Brownie Review

Yesterday I tried a delicious brownie recipe. I hope you can read this font because I think it's very prettyful! Anyways there is a picture that looks somewhat like the brownies I had made.

My mom helped me lots and the brownies tasted fabulous, just let them melt in your mouth and then you're happy! They are very moist and crumbly, but not as dense as a regular brownie. These brownies tasted very good, it was the first time I made homemade brownies! Here is a link to the recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Lindas-Awesome-Brownies/Detail.aspx

That's about all I have to say about these amazing brownies.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

In Your Lunch

It's a regular school day, boring classes, same old things. At last Bailey hears the lunch bell ring. She sits down with her friends and opens her sack lunch. There is no sandwich. There are no chips, no cookies. A mystery package has replaced all of that! Slowly and incredulously, Bailey takes the package from her lunch bag. Not only did it appear in her lunch, but it has her name on it!

She tries opening it and it said: From: "You know who" Well I don't know anyone named "You know who" It's a very strange name, unless.... Instead of pondering about it she ripped up the rest of the package.

Inside the package was a... Subway lunch? Who would put that in someone's lunch? She ate it anyways, it was very delicious the sub even went with two gigantic chocolate chip cookies that she shared with all of her friends.

No one knew who did such a kind thing, but Bailey was determined to find out who put a sub in her lunch and thank he or she.

Bailey went to her next class instead of listening to her teacher she thought about what to do and how to find how out who it was. She thought in her next class. Her next class, her next class, and finally her last hour.

Then she went home on the bus. When I got home from the bus stop I opened the door.... And mom was right there. "SURPRISE! Did you open the package in your lunch box?" mom asked.

"Uh, yeah," Bailey replied.

"Ha! I got you!" mom laughed, "I was the one who put the package in your lunch box!"

"Really? Thanks, mom!"

"No problem."

THE END

You're Amazing Book: Chapter 3

Today I've read Ch. 3 in the You're Amazing book and it talked about school. I'm being home schooled but I guess this is important.

Q. How would your locker portrait have looked if it were one year ago?

A. Well since my school picture was really scary last year people would've freaked out and run away from my locker if I had my school picture from last year on it, trust me it's scary.

Q. What things would be the same?

A. My personality, but that snapshot photo would most certainly not change my personality.

Q. What things would be different?

A. My face and how much I've grown.

Q. What has changed in your life?

A. Not too much, the only Huge thing that has changed was the home schooling.

The most important part of that chapter was the activity that I did above ↑
because it was a question/ answer thing.

Home Schooling

This post is pretty much all about me. It's kinda' a home school project for me to do. for language arts. I'm a huge horse fan *pokes horsey on the template* I also take riding lessons since I don't own a horse. I have lots of friends, three sisters, and two brothers. So we're one big happy family. Today is my first day of homeschooling and so far It's not too bad.
I dreaded school it was so bad, but now I'm being home schooled thank goodness. There are reasons why I wanted to be home schooled and I will tell you what the first day is like.
I wanted to be home schooled because I feel that instead of watching a teacher drone and such would be a lot easier for me because it is annoying. I feel more comfortable talking to a parent of mine instead of talking to a counselor about my problems because I believe that counselors try to butt into your life and personal thoughts, and I hate that. It's better to talk to your family or friends about that because you know you can trust them.
As for the first day, so far it's awesome no more grumpy teachers droning in front of you!!! I get to do a lot of things, so far I have done a math placement exam thingy so my mom knows what math book to buy. I'm.... not so great with my multiplication facts. xD. I have also read the You're Amazing book and made a post doing the little activity on Pg. 23, you can see what I've posted below. ↓

You're Amazing Book: Chapter 2

Today I am supposed to read Ch. 2 in the You're amazing book and do the activity on Pg. 23.

My favorite colors are:
Blue, red, and green.
The outfit I feel most comfortable in is my long gray (very comfortable) pants, they are brand new and awesome.. I couldn't ask for more.
When I think think of the word stylish I think of uniqueness in all girls around the world everyone has their own personal style and no one can change that.
The items in my wardrobe are uniquely me are the clothes that I wear, looks don't matter but your style does.
The inner beauty qualities I would like to shine through my style are what I like to wear, not everyone else.
