Many legends have come from stories about real people. One such person was Davy Crockett. Dacy Crockett was born in Tennessee in 1786. He served in the Tennessee legislachure and also in the U.S House of Representatives. Crokett was often described as an agressor but every move he made was a stategik one. He is believed to have said, always be sure you are right, the go ahead. He died in 1836 at the Alamo in Texas while defending the arsanal during the rebelion against Mexico. Stories that have been told about him include his grinning down a raccoon thawing out the frozen dawn, and saving the country from a comet.
