Spelling Lesson 34 Proofreading
Motorcycling became popular throughout the world shortly after the dawn of the twentieth century. The first gas-powered motorcycle was, in fact, invented in 1885 by Gottlieb Daimler, a German engineer. Aside from a leather seat, handlebars, and two wheels it looked very little like today's machines. In America, the Harley-Davidson company manufactured it's first cycle in 1903, and it wouldn't take an expert bookkeeper to track the company's success. By 1913, Harley-Davidson was manufacturing over 12,000 cycles annually. Today, able-bodied people everywhere use motorcycles for both recreation and people everywhere use motorcycles for both recreation and transportation, especially in areas such as Europe where gasoline is more expensive than it is in the United States.
